Our experienced design team took on the task of extensively researching market to find optimal solution for our agricultural client. Through close collaboration and iterative feedback, we developed a detailed 3D model produced multiple prototypes.

The Challenge

Our experienced design team took on the task of extensively researching the market to find the optimal solution for our agricultural client. Through close collaboration and iterative feedback, we developed a detailed 3D model and produced multiple prototypes. A significant challenge we faced was adapting the seed drills to suit diverse terrains worldwide. Initially, we created five versions to meet various needs, but this posed difficulties for the customer in terms of managing a large number of unique part numbers for servicing and maintenance.

Additionally, we encountered hurdles related to shipping costs and product safety during transportation. Due to the size of the seed drills, shipping expenses were substantial, and there was a potential risk of damage before they reached the customer's site.

Our solution

To streamline production and servicing, we reduced our seed drill family range from five to three machines, employing a standard design with optional add-ons. This minimised variations in frames, improving manufacturing efficiency and inventory management. Thorough testing ensured components' durability under agricultural conditions, enabling enhancements for reliability and performance.

We implemented a standardised part numbering system and designed stillages for organised storage and efficient handling. These measures optimised processes, benefiting our agricultural customers with improved productivity and easier servicing.

Results

Through attentive listening to customer requirements and close collaboration with our design team, the customer has emerged as a market leader in the product range over the past five years. Our design and manufacturing solutions have enabled them to meet the specific needs of end customers effectively.

This success has empowered the customer to expand their distribution network, venturing into new markets such as New Zealand and Australia. By leveraging our expertise, they have achieved significant growth and established a strong presence in these countries, solidifying their position as a leader in the industry.
