Hutchinson is a well-established sub-contract engineering company based in Kilrea.

We supply high-quality fabricated and machined components to a wide range of sectors, including construction, transport, and manufacturing. Known for our precision, reliability, and customer focus, we are now looking to appoint an Estimator to join our team.

Role Overview

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive costings and quotations for our customers. You will work closely with our sales, design, and production teams to ensure all proposals are commercially sound, technically accurate, and delivered within agreed timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer enquiries to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare and issue formal quotations in line with company standards.
• Support the sales team with technical and commercial input during the bidding process.
• Maintain and track quotation records and provide updates to internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with Internal Engineering teams to ensure any technical clarifications are answered effectively and correctly.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and competitiveness.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an estimating or quotation’s role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• SolidWorks or CAD experience is desirable
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with great attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software (or willingness to learn).
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
